Juliana Stamato Imber
Juliana (“Julie”) Stamato Imber has practiced real estate law for more than thirty-five years. She has handled sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including purchases and sales, financings, lease transactions and loan modifications. She has represented a broad range of players in the real estate industry, including investors, sellers, lenders, borrowers, developers, landlords and tenants.
Julie started her career in large national and international law firms, including O’Melveny & Myers, Baker & McKenzie and Arter & Hadden. At Arter & Hadden, she chaired the Southern California Real Estate Department.
In 2012 Julie started her own firm, where she continues to handle sophisticated transactions, but with the flexibility and cost-efficiency of a small firm.
She views her role as a business and legal advisor to her clients, and she structures transactions in ways to help them achieve their ultimate goals. Her strength is in finding cost-effective solutions. She enjoys achieving efficiency in transactions involving multiple parties, resolving issues and bringing all parties to a successful closing or transaction.
Julie has represented clients in the purchase and sale of office buildings, R&D campuses, shopping centers, mixed-used complexes, hotels and large industrial properties. She has represented borrowers and lenders in acquisition loans, construction loans, CMBS loans, bridge loans, defeasances and loan modifications. She has extensive experience in leasing matters and has drafted and negotiated leases for all types of real estate, including sale-leaseback leases, office, commercial and industrial leases, master leases and subleases. She counsels her clients on property management issues, lease modifications and lease disputes.
Julie has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer each year from 2005 to the present. In 2009, she was named in the list of Top 50 Women Attorneys, all as published in Southern California Super Lawyer Magazine and Los Angeles Magazine. Julie is rated AV Preeminent, which is the highest rating awarded by Martindale Hubbell. She was included in the list of Best Lawyers of America from 2019 to the present.
Julie served for four years on the Board of Directors and one year on the Advisory Board of CREW-Los Angeles. She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Real Estate Section.
Julie earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles. At Loyola, she was a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society (equivalent to Order of the Coif) and served as Ninth Circuit Co-Editor of the Loyola Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers College and lived in France during her Junior Year.
Julie enjoys reading, traveling, hiking and cooking.
